The Practice of Gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Everyday should be a Thanksgiving which is a wonderful American Holiday and we can do so by being more grateful daily. When we practice gratitude daily it is very important because the Universe response faster to gratitude than anything else. It seems to put us in a different mindset that makes us happier, more productive, easier to get along with and be more successful. It helps us to have a great day instead of a bad day which is a big deal, right?

When we practice gratitude it seems to greatly influence our mindset and attitude. This is something I am working on to do my best to practice every day… but of course I’m not perfect. In any event, I’ve noticed a direct correlation between the amount of GRATITUDE I have during the day and how those days go for me. I’ve also noticed that the more gratitude I have in my life, and the more I hang out with other people with lots of gratitude in their lives… well, the better and more graceful my life is. And the more I’m grateful, the better I get at it.

So yes, I’m grateful. Very grateful for many things in my life. And that’s important because I’ve learned that being grateful is one of the most critical life skills you can have. We can make it a habit to do it regularly. It’s simply a matter of consciously taking time on a regular basis to acknowledge everything you have to be grateful for. Indeed, we all have so much to be grateful for.

Simply practice and take a few minutes right now, and reflect on FIVE things that you’re grateful for. If you want to be an overachiever (and feel even better), than think of ten things that you’re grateful for. It seems that this is even more powerful if you actually speak those things out loud instead of just thinking about them. And it’s best if you write them down.

Go ahead… do it right now and make it a priority in your life and your life will change for the better before you know it.

So how did that feel? Did something shift inside? Do you feel happier and Lighter? More alive, right?

This really is a wonderful exercise to do each morning when you wake, or at night when you go to bed.

But here’s the best part – when you start the practice of gratitude you daily will not only be happier… but you’re going to start to achieve more in your life. It works like a magic. This is powerful stuff so try it!

We have a choice: you can go through your life with a chip on your shoulder, looking to blame other people and wondering why things aren’t coming easier to you… or you can go through your life feeling grateful for all you have. It’s your choice.

Many super-successful people, seem to pretty much all fall on the “gratitude” side of things. Bottom line is if you want to achieve great things in your life, then the practice of gratitude is one of the key life-skills you need to master. The good news is that it’s also one of the easiest. And you’ll be a lot happier for it. :)

I am going to start my gratitude journal today because I have postponed it too long to get start. Why not you join me and start your gratitude journal also and see how it goes for you. Try to post in it five to ten things you are grateful for daily.

I couldn’t think of a better day to start this blog and publish this post than on Thanksgiving.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
